Welcome!

My name is Jaime Boddorff. I’m a photographer (among other things) based in the CA Central Coast region. I’ve lived all over the US; NY to Seattle to LA (among other places), shooting portraits, fashion, product, and working in photojournalism. Studio work creates a sense of imagination-architecture that always drew me in, so I wanted to make the high-quality, couture-feeling aesthetic inclusive and accessible outside of major fashion and portraiture hubs.

I love diving into the whimsical, colorful, and energetic side of studio photography. I also hold great emphasis on the human aspect. In the age of increasing, careless use of AI, I want to use this work as a vessel to showcase humanity, whether through emotional range or showcasing body-focused arts, be it handmade garments or dance choreography.

What is “Every Good Heart”?

I wanted to exude a name with more feeling. Despite more “photo” focused name attempts, my mind kept circling “Every Good Heart” from an excerpt of an Andrea Gibson poem:

Best Friend,

angel of the get-through,

all living is storm chasing.

Every good heart has lost its roof.

Let all the walls collapse at your feet.

Scream Timber when they ask you

how you are.

FINE is the suckiest answer.

It is the opposite of HERE.

Here is the only place left on the map.

Here is where you learn laughter can go extinct

and come back.

This, to me, captures radical vulnerability, presence, open arms, and the place  where laughter comes back, in the company of every good heart. Its a lofty goal, and worth chasing whether or not a camera is involved. If achieved, the photos are just a souvenir from something bigger.
